The commander of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia, Vice-Admiral Vladimir Korolev, will become the commander of the Northern Fleet in the near future, while the current commander of the Leningrad naval base, Counter-Admiral Alexander Fedotenkov, will command the Black Sea Fleet, RIA Novosti reports.
It is a promotion for Korolev, as the Northern Fleet has strategic nuclear arms and a wider area of bases. He will soon take command of the new Borey submarines. Korolev has already been heading the command staff of the Northern Fleet.
