Over two thousand signatures have been collected in support of a referendum for a third presidential term in South Ossetia. The number of signatures is already several times higher than the number needed for organizing a referendum, Res reports.
In this regard, the initiative group for organizing the referendum on amending the Constitution of the Republic of South Ossetia has called for an end to collecting signatures.
On May 4, the initiative group headed by Deputy Defense Minister General Ibrahim Gasseev proposed holding a referendum on a new term for the current president of South Ossetia, Eduard Kokoity.
