Azerbaijan to protest against evaluation of human rights by European Parliament

The Azerbaijani Parliament has formed a commission to prepare a protest against the resolution of the European Parliament on Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

The commission will be headed by MP Valeh Aleskerov and deputized by MPs Azay Guliyev, Ali Guseynli, Faradzh Guliyev, Asim Mollazade, Ayten Mustafayeva and Samed Seidov.

Azerbaijani Chairman of Parliament Oktay Asadov noted that dozens of people are illegally arrested all over the world and violence is used against them, yet not a single document is issued.

The resolution of the European Parliament was passed over protests in Baku, he said. It was passed on May 12.

Asadov believes that certain people are not interested in an independent policy of Azerbaijan and are affecting it.

Vice-Speaker Ziyafet Askerov said that, during establishment of the Euronest, it was noted that no document would be passed in the European Parliament without Azerbaijan’s input. The resolution does not correspond to the reality in Azerbaijan and its ties with the European Parliament.
