Divers start taking apart sunken Beshiktash vessel

Specialists have started taking apart the Beshiktash vessel that sunk in the Black Sea area of the Sochi beach Primorsky in February 2011, RIA Novosti cites the main department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in the Krasnodar Territory as saying.


The vessel was sailing under the flag of Tanzania and was heading to Sochi but broke apart in a storm. The two parts sunk at a distance of 500 meters from each other. The crew consisted of 12 people: four Georgians, five Turks, two Azerbaijanis and one member from Montenegro. Two crew members died.


The vessel will be cut up and returned to the owner.
