Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abdulfaz Garayev thanked Russia for supporting the Azerbaijani singers Eldar&Nigar, who won at the Eurovision-2011 in Dusseldorf, he said in an interview with ITAR-TASS in Las Vegas (Nevada).
The minister is taking part at the 11th Global Travel and Tourism Summit.
Eldar&Nigar won the contest with 221 points.
Garayev noted that he received many calls expressing support and congratulations from Russia.
Ell (Eldar Gasymov) and Nikki (Nigar Jamal) won the first place, Italian singer Rafaello Gaulaci (189 points), Erik Saade from Sweden (185 points) took the third place. Russia gave Azerbaijan 12 points, Ukraine – 10, Greece – 8.
