Astrakhan is hosting the second Russian-Azerbaijani interregional forum called “Russia-Azerbaijan: to new achievements of interregional cooperation”.
The Russian non-government organization “Institute of Eurasian Studies” is the organizer of the forum. Over 200 people, including officials from the presidential administration, federal and regional authorities, business structures, non-government organizations and experts, are taking part in the forum.
The meeting will see talks on bilateral transport strategy, modern state and prospects of development of the communication factor in strengthening Russian-Azerbaijani interregional ties, realization of projects of bilateral cooperation in energy, economy and finances, prospects of humanitarian and cultural cooperation between the two states.
A report of the joint Russian-Azerbaijani expert group will be presented at the forum. The expert group is headed by Alexey Vlasov, Director General of the Information and Analytical Center of the Moscow State University, and Ismail Agakishiyev, Associated Professor of the History Faculty of the Moscow State University and head of the Center for Caucasus Studies of the Russian State University for the Humanities. They will present new points of the document.
