Alexander Zhukov has held a council at Yessentuki, where the situation at the labor market and additional measures for training staff for primary and middle education of the North Caucasian Federal District were discussed, Yuga.ru reports.
Alexander Khloponin, Russian Vice-Premier and Plenipotentiary Envoy to the district, heads of federal ministries and structures, subjects of the North Caucasus, were at the meeting.
Unemployment in the North Caucasus is at 15.5% (Russia – 7.1%). There are 8.7% of the population is registered as unemployed (2.1% in Russia). There are no regional programs helping cope with unemployment. The only exception is the Stavropol Territory where population is trained, retrained, supported in employment.
The governor of Stavropol Territory said that the region needs more subsidies to stimulate employment. 350 start-uppers in the region received support in 2011. The region needs 22 million rubles to keep the pace.
Khloponin ordered every region to develop a program to establish resource centers as one of the most efficient measures to train professional staff.
