Kabardino-Balkaria starts confiscation of weapons from population

The police of Kabardino-Balkaria have started confiscating weapons and ammunition illegally kept by the population, RIA Novosti reports.


Deputy Interior Minister of the republic Kazbek Tatuyev ordered the operation. He said that this time they will not pay for the weapons and explosives.


Kabardino-Balkaria has held five such operations since 2006. Over 800 weapons worth over 3.2 million rubles have been confiscated. The latest operation was held from April 15 to October 15, 2010.
