The president of the European parliament, Jerzy Buzek, who is now paying a visit to Azerbaijan, met with leaders of the country's major political parties, Trend cites the Azerbaijani People's Front political party.
The EU official met the leader of the People's Front, Ali Kerimli, the chairman of the National Independece Party, Yusif Bagirzade, the head of Musavat political party, Isa Gambar, the chairman of the Azerbaijani Democratic Party, Sardar Jalaloglu, the chairman of the Citizen and Development Party, Ali Aliyev, and the chairman of the Azerbaijani Liberal Party, Aravaz Temirkhan.
During the meeting Buzek discussed with Azerbaijani politicians the current situation in the country and the situation concerning human rights and freedom of the press.
