Iran to reopen diplomatic mission in Kuwait

Ruhullah Gahramani Chabok, new Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait, has arrived in Kuwait today, Trend reports.

Tehran has had no ambassadors to the state for two years after return of Ambassador Ali Jannati.

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran and Kuwait had decided to restore diplomatic missions. The missions were closed after an espionage scandal.

Kuwait published information on the exposure of an Iranian spy group in May 2010. Three people were sentenced to death for spying for Iran.

Salehi visited Kuwait last week and held talks with high-ranking officials.
