Belarus and Azerbaijan have good prospects for investment cooperation, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Guryanov said at Azerbaijan’s Republic Day on May 23, Trend reports.
Guryanov emphasized that the two states are realizing the assembly of cargo vehicles, and elevation equipment. They have started cooperating in energy.
The Belarusian official said that Azerbaijan is one of the main partners of Belarus.
The Azerbaijani Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belarus Isfandiyar Bakhtiyar ogly Vagabzade said that there have been several significant meetings in the last two years. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Belarus in 2009, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko visited Azerbaijan in 2010.
Such visits contributed to development of economic ties. Trade turnover between the two states increased 12-fold in the first three months of 2011, reaching $378 million.
