The president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has opened the 4th International Kurultay of Kazakhs in Astana, Trend reports. This year Astana welcomes the leaders of youth organizations and student unions from 35 countries, including Germany, Sweden, Austria, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Mongolia, Turkey, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Nazarbayev stated at the opening ceremony that Kazakhs living abroad should receive all the information about their homeland. Thus, he ordered the government to provide broadcasts of the Kazakh TV-channel Caspionet in countries where Kazakh communities live.
Moreover, Kazakhstan will support and help people who want to return to their homeland.
The president reminded the audience that Kazakhstan hadn’t avoided the consequences of the world financial crisis. At the moment the country hasn't the ability to welcome all migrants. However, there is a quota of 20 thousand people who will be supported by the state.
The parliament of Kazakhstan is developing the bill “On Migration” for simplifying the procedure for obtaining citizenship for Kazakhs living abroad.
