A protest by the opposition People’s Assembly, demanding the resignation of Mikhail Saakashvili, has gathered near the parliament building at 15:30, News Georgia reports.
Several thousand people are participating in the protest. A new motto appeared today: “Misha, go peacefully!”, after a statement by Burdzhanadze that the development of events would depend on the numbers of people.
In recent days the leaders of the People’s Assembly haven't been able to gather many-thousand-strong crowds of opposition supporters. The opposition states that the government is preventing People’s Assembly supporters from coming to Tbilisi from other regions of the country.
