Leader of the Georgian People's Assembly and the Democratic Movement
Nino Budjanadze urged protesters to spend the night at the parliament
building, Georgian media report.
A military parade will be held in the area on May 26, marking the
Independence Day of Georgia. President Mikheil Saakashvili will be at
the parade, Burjanadze said.
The opposition leader said that it is a necessary action, otherwise
there will be neither democracy, nor real freedom in the next "20 or
30 years".
About a thousand people have gathered at the spot.
