Safety inspections of motor vehicles due in 2011 have been postponed
by 12 months, RIA Novosti reports.
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin introduced changes to the
technical inspection of vehicles and trailers registered at the State
Inspection of Road Security of the Interior Ministry.
New vehicles have been exempted from technical inspection for 12 months.
President Dmitry Medvedev ordered development of recommendations for
the safety inspection in April. He said that it may eventually be
cancelled.
