The mayor's office of Tbilisi proposed protesters of the People's
Assembly to move to Vake Park, Veri Park or Deda Ena Park, News
Georgia cites a leader of the organization Dmitry Jaiani as saying.
The office also said that the protest permission has expired. 2,000
protesters shouted "No!" to the proposal.
Nino Burjanadze, leader of the People's Assembly, moved the protests
from the Public Television building, where they spent 5 days, to the
parliament building. They blocked the Rustaveli Avenue where President
Saakashvili's review stand had been set up for the parade for
Independence Day on May 26.
The protests were permitted for May 21-25.
Burjanadze urged Saakashvili to cancel the parade. She also said that
opposition will not hold back the parade, should it start. The parade
will start at 10.00 am.
