Serbian President Boris Tadic has officially confirmed the arrest of
Ratko Mladic, former Commander of Bosnian Serb Army. The International
Criminal for Yugoslavia has been seeking his extradition.
An anonymous source said that the Serbian police had detained a man
named Milorad Komadic, who is believed to be Mladic. DNA samples were
taken.
Mladic has been a fugitive from international justice since 1996. The
Serbian government said that Goran Hadzic, also persecuted by the
tribunal for military crimes, has also been arrested.
Serbian authorities increased the reward for information on Mladic and
Hadzic's location to 10 million and 5 million euro respectively in
October 2010.
