Executive authorities of regions of the North Caucasus Federal
District (NCFD) signed an agreement on the establishment of the
North-Caucasus Parliament Association in Nalchik today, RIA Novosti
reports.
The organization will coordinate legislative authorities, strengthen
their contacts, assist in developing a legal state, democracy,
parliamentarianism and federalism, develop a coordinated approach to
political, economic and social reforms, development of
inter-parliament cooperation.
The initiative to establish the association belongs to
Kabardino-Balkaria. It was announced in May 2010 and approved by
legislative authorities in 7 regions of the NCFD.
Kabardino-Balkarian Parliament Speaker Anuar Chechenov said that the
regions need to operate in a single constitutional field to solve
common issues together.
Chechnya will chair the organization the first year. The first session
of the new inter-parliament structure will be held in Grozny in
September.
