Moscow and Ankara promote stability in the Caucasus region

Moscow and Ankara will promote the strengthening of stability in the Caucasus region, in particular, the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, announced Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Wednesday, reports the TV channel Vesti.
The Russian president added that Russia will consult with Turkey on resolving these issues. "In recent times important steps have been made to advance in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. The sides hold meetings, discuss the issue, there is progress in resolving important issues, in regards of this conflict," Medvedev said.
He said however that this did not mean that an agreement on all issues had been reached, and that consultations were continuing. Medvedev noted that all the members of the OSCE Minsk Group should contribute to the resolving of this problem, and Russia relies on their support. But in the first instance a constructive discussion should be held by Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The sides have achieved a lot in this sphere, though there is much to do, noted Medvedev.
