Turkish president visits Ashkhabad

Turkish President Abdullah Gul is on a visit to Turkmenistan, where he
will meet President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the city of
Turkmenbasha.


Turkmenistan and Turkey have been systematically developing
cooperation in interstate partnership for development of the region
and the world.


They have over 100 interstate, inter-governmental and interregional agreements.


The two states launched an inter-governmental commission for economic
cooperation in 2008. It holds talks on improvement of mutually
beneficial ties, including cooperation in the fuel and energy complex,
agriculture, transit and transport, the scientific and technical
sphere and investments.


Turkmenistan has over 600 Turkish companies that continue realizing
projects in the textile industry, construction of housing and medical
and cultural centers.

Both states are working on building an advanced tourism
infrastructure, such as realization of the Avaz tourism zone.


Turkmen students study at Turkish higher education centers.
Turkmenistan has the international Turkish-Turkmen university and a
set of other centers.


Turkmenistan and Turkey have improved ties in science and culture.
Days of Culture and various exhibitions have become a tradition.
Istanbul will host the Turkmen Culture Festival.
