Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will visit Minsk to attend
the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty
Organization (CSTO) on May 31, News.am reports.
The council will hold talks on fulfillment of agreements reached at
the previous CSTO Council in December 2010. The sides agreed to
strengthen the organization and improve its efficiency.
A spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Lukashevich,
said in Moscow on May 26 that they discussed topical issues of global
and regional policy and development of cooperation in foreign policy
via international and interregional structures. There are prospects
for cooperation in peacekeeping missions with the UN.
The CSTO consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia,
Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
