The Georgian prosecution service has charged Badri Bitsadze, husband
of the leader of the Democratic Movement and former parliamentary
speaker Nino Burjanadze, for organizing protests at Rystaveli Avenue,
Georgian Deputy Solicitor General David Sakvarelidze said, Trend
reports.
Charges were based on questioning of detained protesters, including
the head of the paramilitary formation the “Prisyagnuvshiye” of Giya
Uchava.
Unofficial information says that Bitsadze may be released on bail.
Two people died and several were injured during a crackdown on the
opposition in Georgia on May 26.
