Istanbul court on Monday arrested the head of the military academies and Turkish Army General Bilgina Balanly on charges of plotting the 2003 coup to overthrow the government of Tayyip Erdogan, RIA Novosti reports citing local media.
General Balanly became the highest among the Turkish military, taken into custody in the sensational trial. Earlier, on charges of plotting a conspiracy were arrested about 190 active and retired military.
