Former Deputy Interior Minister and husband of Nino Burjanadze, Badri
Bitsadze, informed the prosecutor's office on May 30 that he plans to
pay a visit. He will not post bail. Nino Burjanadze said in an
interview with Vestnik Kavkaza that demanding bail is illegal.
Burjanadze said that she does not know where her husband spent the
whole day after he had returned home.
The opposition leader says that she does not know the reason for the
Georgian authorities use of such harsh measures. Burjanadze believes
that they want to terrify the opposition and break its spirit.
Burjanadze said that Saakashvili spends million to silence opposition.
The protests were absolutely peaceful and were for democracy, freedom
and against neo-bolshevism. None of the protesters did anything
illegal, she said.
