The Armenian parliament has discussed amendments to the law on urban planning.
Ovannes Markaryan, head of the parliament commission for territorial
administration, said that the amendments will regulate the general
plan and scheme of zoning populated localities.
The general plan includes basic spheres of territorial administration.
Changes to the purpose of land will be based on the request of the
land owner and will be decided on by the community chief. Plans will
be made on microeconomic level.
The amendments say that project companies developing documentation for
urban planning will not undergo expertise.
