Makhachkala demands meeting at presidential council for human rights

About a thousand citizens in Dagestan have arrived at the National
Library of Rasul Gamzatov in Makhachkala, where Mikhail Fedotov is
chairing the presidential council for human rights, Interfax reports.

The police did not allow them to approach. A member of the public
organization "Dagestan - territory of peace and development", Abbas
Kebedov, came out to speak with the people.

The citizens agreed to move to Kotrov Street. A delegation of five was
formed to attend the council.

Kebedov himself summoned the citizens from many areas of Dagestan.
The council session will talk on interconfessional consent. One of the
topics is the promotion of dialogue between traditional Islam and the
alim association "Akhl-Sunna", Fedotov said.
