20-meter tunnel found under oil pipeline in Dagestan

A 20-meter tunnel dug under an oil pipeline and 900 meters of branch
pipeline were found in the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan on May
30, RIA Novosti cites Jafar Nasirov, head of the Chernomortransneft
office in Dagestan, as saying.


Criminals had attached 900 meters of pipes to the oil pipeline.


Chernomortransneft is a subsidiary of the Transneft company. The
company specializes in transporting oil using pipelines and oil
terminals, as well as oil storage.


Chernomortransneft has facilities in Krasnodar and Stavropol
Territories, Rostov Region, Adygeya, Ingushetia, North Ossetia,
Kabardino-Balkaria and Dagestan. It has over 3,000 km of pipelines, 29
pumping stations and reservoirs for 1.82 million cubic meters.
