The Foundation for Assistance to the Republic of Abkhazia has launched
an initiative for conferring on the deceased President Sergei Bagapsh
"Paying tribute to the modesty of Sergei Vasilyevich Bagapsh, who as
the head of Abkhazia never favored any titles, considering how much he
did for Abkhazia and its people, realizing that with him Abkhazia
became an internationally recognized independent state, we believe it
is necessary to stress the outstanding achievements and contributions
of Sergei Vasilyevich Bagapsh to development of the statehood of
Abkhazia ," the statement of the Foundation reads.
