Ban Ki-moon formally asked the UN Security Council to endorse his
candidacy for the post of Secretary-General of the organization for a
second five-year term, RIA Novosti reports, with reference to Reuters.
"The term of my tenure as Secretary General of the United Nations is
coming to the end, and I dare to put my name for the consideration of
the members of the Security Council for a second term," the letter of
Ban Ki-moon to Nelson Messone reads.
