Mexico is holding the first Armenian culture festival on June 9-11, Armenian Deputy Culture Minister Arev Samuelyan said on Thursday, News Armenia reports.
A photo exhibition was organized to mark the liberation movement in Mexico in the 1920s.
Mexican Plenipotantiary Ambassador to Armenia Alfred Perez Bravo gave a lecture at the Yerevan State Linguistic University of Bryusov.
A children’s painting contest will be held at the Yerevan National Center of Aesthetics.
The Mexican ambassador noted the talent of Armenian children. He discussed the contest with Armenian Culture Minister Asmik Pogosyan.
Over 150 pictures were presented. The ambassador himself awarded the winners.
Armenia and Mexico plan to sign a convention on cooperation in culture and education for 2011-2014, Samuelyan said.
Alfred Perez Bravo noted the need for improvement of cooperation in culture and tourism. The two countries have a lot in common, he said.
Bravo added that Mexico would welcome Armenian artists.
