Postponing agreement on basic principles of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process would be counter-productive, spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said, RIA Novosti reports.
The latest declaration of presidents in Deauville gives hope for settlement of the conflict.
Russian, US and French presidents made a joint declaration in Deauville where the latest G8 meeting was held in late May. They urged leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia to prepare for peace, not war and conclude work on the basic principles of settling the conflict for the coming summit in June. The principles discussed in Sochi on March 5 are a just way for a peace treaty.
