Kokoity not to run for third presidential term in South Ossetia

South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity has refused to participate in
the elections for the republic’s president, Interfax reports,
referring to the press service of the president and government of the
republic.

The Supreme Court of South Ossetia is expected to make a decision
regarding a referendum on June 14. If the court approves the
referendum, it will offer the citizens of South Ossetia to vote for
the extension of a maximum number of consecutive presidential terms
from two to three.
