According to Rasim Musabekov, a member of the Azerbajani parliament and a prominent political scholar, the results of the recent parliamentary elections in Turkey are not surprising. The AKP's victory was predictable and now seem fair, even to its opponents, such as the CHP political party, the leaders of which have even congartuted Prime Minister Erdogan on his success.
The fact that the AKP didn't manage to receive the desired constitutional majority needed in the parliament to form a new constituation doesn't mean that such a formation is no longer possible, Musabekov believes. In fact, the AKP is able to negotiate constitutional reform by coming to an agreement with other political forces in the country.
Rasim Musabekov believes that such an agreement will be reached and that constitutional reform will proceed.
Speaking about the effect of the recent parliamentary elections in Turkey on Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, Musabekov underlined that the AKP has been the ruling party for 10 years and so no changes are expected.
