The president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, considers that the member-states of the SCO should be protected from destructive information on the internet, RIA Novosti reports.
“Terrorism, separatism, the drug business use the internet to spread all around the world. It is one more threat for us, that is why the SCO states should resist it,” Nazarbayev stated at the SCO summit on Wednesday.
He believes it is high time that a new notion in international law be implemented – electronic borders and electronic independence. “We should support the important work of our Russian and Chinese friends and develop a united position on this issue,” Nazarbayev stated.
However, the president of Kazakhstan stressed that the SCO countries should be open to positive ideas and new technologies on the internet.
