Monarchs of Arabian peninsula urge Yemen's president to resign

The Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf urges Abdullah Saleh to sign a plan for overcoming the political crisis in Yemen,  RIA Novosti reports.

The meeting of the foreign ministers of the CCASG took place on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia. The organization includes six countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

A peaceful initiative on a settlement of the political crisis in Yemen by the members of the CCASG was developed in early April this year. According to the plan, the president of Yemen should resign the post within 30 days of the signing of a peace agreement. In this case, he and his family would be provided with immunity from prosecution.
