Taiwan businessman supplied Iran with illegal rocket components

A US court has found a Taiwanese businessman guilty of illegally
supplying Iran with prohibited rocket components, Interfax reports.
I Lanchen was arrested on the US island of Guam in the Pacific
attempting to ship components to Iran, which is under an embargo.


According to the US department of Commerce, I Lanchen organized at
least 30 illegal shipments to Iran. Sentence will be passed in June,
the businessman may receive a sentence of 20 years imprisonment. I
Lanchen and the company he was working for will pay a $1 million
penalty.


Washington is currently proposing new sanctions against Iran. Tehran
says that its nuclear program is peaceful, but the USA and some of its
allies believe that Iran is trying to create a nuclear arsenal.
