Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani says Asian nations are facing numerous challenges which keep them from making progress, including challenges in the field of education as well as other arenas, Press TV reports.
“This region is still facing many challenges in the field of education,” said Larijani in a gathering of the Executive Board of the Forum of Asia-Pacific Parliaments for Education on Saturday.
“On the other hand, Asia is facing other big challenges such as the negative effects of the [global] economic crisis, poverty, slow economic growth, malnutrition, lack of food security, cultural barriers and natural disasters, and above all, military occupation of some regional countries,” Larijani added.
