Caspian littoral countries agreed to set up a regional information centre for fighting drugs, the Commander of the anti-narcotic squad of Iran's Police General Hamid Reza Hossein-Abadi is quoted as saying, Trend reports.
The agreement was reflected in the final statement of the meeting of littoral states' counter-narcotics bodies' heads, which took place on Friday in the Iranian city of Bandar-Anzali
According to Hossein-Abadi, the meeting also reached agreement on holding joint operations by the littoral countries against gangs involved in drug smuggling.
The next meeting of counter-narcotics departments' heads ("Caspian Anti-Drug Five" - Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan) will be held in Russia.
The first meeting of the "Five" was held in October 2010 in Russian city of Astrakhan.
