Georgia and the USA will hold joint military training at the port of
Batumi today, Caucasus Press reports.
The training will involve the US vessel Monterey (CG-61) and the
Georgian vessel P-101 of the border guards.
The USS Monterey has been in the Black Sea for several years,
supporting stability and security in the region. The vessel is 173
meters long. It has 43 officers and 323 sailors on board, commanded by
Captain James Kilby.
It is the second visit by US military vessels to the port of Batumi in
the last two weeks.
