Iran is avoiding cooperation with the world community on its nuclear
program, is how Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan explained the
reasons for the cancellation of his visit to Tehran, Trend reports.
The president of Brazil and the Turkish Premier were to visit Iran to
mediate between Iran and the West on Iran's nuclear program.
Turkey and Brazil were mediators in the exchange of 1200 kg of Iranian
low-enriched uranium for 20%-enriched uranium for Tehran’s nuclear
laboratory. Iran had expressed interest in exchanging uranium on its
territory only.
The West suspects Iran of producing nuclear weapons. Iran denies the
charges. The United Nations Security Council has so far placed three
economic sanctions on Iran, with a fourth one under consideration.
