Azerbaijan and Turkey to open consulate in Iraq to monitor pilgrims

Azerbaijan and Turkey have requested the opening of a consulate in the
Iraqi city of Karbala, chairman of the governing council of Karbala,
Mohammed Musavi, said, Trend reports.


One of the goals of the consulate will be monitoring of pilgrims. Iran
has the only consulate in Karbala at the moment, it opened in 2010.
