Kazan summit to play defining role in Nagorno-Karabakh peace process

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh
Sargsyan will meet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Kazan on June
24. The meeting is expected to play a defining role in settling the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Trend reports.

Baku and Yerevan are expected to make a constructive response to the
statement made by the presidents of Russia, USA and France (co-chair
states of the OSCE Minsk Group) in Deauville on May 26. The presidents
urged Azerbaijan and Armenia to express political willingness and
conclude discussions of the basic principles of the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict.

The document developed by co-chairs of the OSCE MG may result in the
signing of a peace treaty.

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict may be settled and the sides must use
such an opportunity, US deputy press-secretary for the State
Department Mark Toner said.
