Draft dodgers in Armenia willing to return home have paid about $2.7 million, chairman of the parliamentary commission for defense, national security and interior affairs Grayr Karapetyan said, News Armenia reports.
The law allows citizens aged 27 to return home after paying the fine as a compensation to the Defense Ministry.
The law will be prolonged. The Armenian parliament introduced amendments, stopping persecution of draft dodgers aged above 27 since May 1, 2011.
