Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is paying a historic visit
to Greece. This visit is considered to be a landmark in relations
between the two Aegean neighbors, since Erdogan has become the first
Turkish Premier to visit Greece twice. The Premier is accompanied by
10 ministers and 100 businessmen, reports TRT Russia.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was welcomed by Greek Deputy Prime
Minister Theodoros Pangolos at Athens Airport.
Later, Erdogan held a meeting with Greek president Karolos Papoulias.
Papoulias noted that Turkey and Greece are friendly states with
good-neighbourly relations. Erdogan said this historic visit will be
completed with positive results.
The visit also saw a meeting of the Turkish premier and his Greek
counterpart Iorgo Papandreu, during which they discussed prospects for
Turkish-Greek relations.
