Georgian president and EU commissioner for enlargement discuss free trade

The Georgian president, Mikheil Saakashvili, and the European
Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Stefan Fule,
have held talks in Brussels, Georgia Online reports.


Saakashvili expressed willingness to speed up formation of a free
trade deal between Georgia and the EU. Fule said that discussions of
the deal would start in late 2011.


They also discussed a visa-free regime and a switch to a simplified visa regime.
The Georgian ambassador to the EU, Salome Samadashvili, said that the
European commissioner had been impressed with Georgian achievements.
