The Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Dashnaktsutyun, has started its
31st session in Yerevan today, News Armenia reports.
It is a general meeting of the party and is considered the supreme
assembly of the organization. It will make decisions on the main
strategies for the next 4 years, a member of the supreme structure of
the party Armen Rustamyan said.
The session will include talks on domestic policy, the current state
of affairs and new steps to cope with the situation.
The main topics are Armenian-Turkish ties, Nagorno-Karabakh, Javakha
and internal problems.
The session will pass a decision on Nagorno-Karabakh, most likely
after the talks in Kazan.
Representatives of coalition forces and the parliamentary and
non-parliamentary opposition were invited to the Dashnaktsutyun
session. The session started with a demonstration of a film about the
party 3 years ago.
The session will be behind closed doors and will last several days.
The 30th session was held in May 2008.
Dashnaktsutyun was formed in 1890 and is a traditional political party
in Armenia. It has 16 deputies in the parliament.
