Adygeya is hosting the 5th International Media Forum today, organized
by the republic’s committee for nationalities, links with compatriots
and media, assisted by the Journalists' Union of Adygeya. Over 130
journalists arrived for the forum from 13 regions of the Southern
Caucasus District and the South Caucasian Federal District, Abkhazia
and South Ossetia.
The forum was an interregional meeting of Adygeya and Krasnodar
Territory. The latter is sending the largest delegation to the forum.
The forum will be held in Maikop. The forum will determine certain
steps for further cooperation and rapprochement of the media in
Russia’s southern regions, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The chairman of the Journalists' Union of Adygeya, Timur Derbe, said
that Larisa Shamikova, secretary of the union and editor-in-chief of
Persona magazine, will attend the forum. She will award 14
authorization documents for new members of the union.
The forum will end with an excursion into the mountainous areas of
Adygeya and a visit to the Rufabgo waterfalls.
