US President Barack Obama has made a telephone call to Azerbaijani
President Ilham Aliyev. They discussed the negotiation process on
Nagorno-Karabakh, which has been going on for 17 years.
Obama confirmed the statements of the joint declarations of the
co-chair states of the OSCE Minsk Group, French President Nikolas
Sarkozy and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
The US president urged the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to sign a
basic document on a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict at the
meeting with Medvedev in Kazan.
President Obama also called Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, noting
the significance of the meeting in Kazan, News.am reports.
