Abkhazia to commemorate Sergei Bagapsh

The prime minister of Abkhazia, Sergei Shamba, has proposed to
establish a commission to commemorate the second president of the
republic, Sergei Bagapsh, Apsnypress reports.

Bagapsh died on May 29 at the age of 62 in a Moscow hospital from
complications after surgery on his right lung.

Bagapsh served as president of the Republic of Abkhazia from 12
January 2005. In 2010 he was reelected to a second term with 59.4% of
votes.
