Turkish Armed Forces stationed on the border with Syria are on high
alert due to the ongoing concentration of Syrian troops in the border
area, RIA Novosti reports.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed strong concern about the
conduct of military operations in Syria close to the border. On
Thursday Turkish Foreign Minister Davutoglu expressed these concerns
in a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem.
Meanwhile, the total number of Syrian refugees who fled into Turkey to
escape the persecution of the authorities has reached 12 thousand
people.
Unrest in Syria began in mid-March. According to the opposition and
human rights groups, more than 1.2 thousand people have been killed
